چکیده
Background and Aims: Health care workers (HCWs) are predisposed to Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, mainly due occupational exposures. This study aimed at estimating the seropositivity of HBV vaccination status HCWs PGIMER, Chandigarh. Methods: A cross-sectional was conducted (January 2021 -June 2022) in various departments Blood samples were withawn analyzed for titres HBsAg, Anti HBc (Total) HBs by chemiluminescence immunoassay. Results: Out 211 participating subjects, 71.6% females 65.4% nursing staff (mean age 40.32 ± 10.99 years). reported 76.3% participants (71.5% with 2 doses, 59% 3 doses 11.8% took boosters). Post-vaccination, 59.7% had attained (titres > 10 mIU/mL). The seroprevalence HBsAg 1.4% (95% CI 0.29%-4.1%) that anti 6.6% 3.67%-10.88%). Older subjects lower tires higher values HBc. It found incremental vaccines, a seroprotection rate seen (up 91% blood transfusion posed subject 1.256 times risk acquiring as compared non-receivers. 36% direct/indirect contact infected or potentially body fluids patients but there no significant associations between exposure positivity HBV. Conclusions: provides adequate data establish protection conferred vaccines. also information regarding prevalence infection emphasizes importance institutional policies prevention transmission an hazard.
